Our mission

As part of its CSR approach, Thermocompact commissioned Kapstan to compare the impact on climate change of machining two Electrical discharge machining (EDM) wires using the Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) method:

  • Wire 1: bare brass EDM wire
  • Wire 2: zinc-coated brass EDM wire

As well as between two supply chains:

  • Spanish origin
  • Vietnamese origin

EDM wires are electro-erosion wires (produced by Thermocompact). These wires are used to machine parts for the high-tech, mechanical and precision industries.

17% à 20%
reduction in the impact of machining for the second wire studied.

We greatly appreciated Kapstan's support during our life cycle analysis. Their team was very responsive and always available to meet our needs. Their professionalism and the quality of their deliverables contributed greatly to the success of the project. We highly recommend their expertise.
